A key part of successful planning and forecasting is a well orchestrated game-plan clearly outlining objective, roles and responsibility in the planning process. The objective of a planning process should be to bring the organisation together in defining the plan that ultimately will bring the organisations strategy into action. IT is a key tool in an effective planning process. In designing the tools supporting the planning process one of the key decisions is to keep a balance between a central structured planning process and non central planning which allows for flexibility and individualism. A starting point should be to define the current and future organisational needs and build an effective and scalable IT solution to support them. Implementing a new planning solution is also an effective process to change existing organisational behaviour and put a new fresher face to planning. 4C has a long history of implementing planning solutions in larger Danish organisations.
